Interface is pretty odd but aside from making different GUI choices I can't see how it could be made better for the present. MS is a unique tool that I still use for filtering and creating odd samples - because of the different approach it lends itself to making different sounding stuff. Spear is great - something like that in Metasynth would be awesome - but it exists independently so. Iris is different - closer to the Image Filter but frequency rather than note-based so more detailed though i've not found it finer to control. The pixellated nature of the Image Synth and Image Filter sections are not substantially different to ANS. Part of the limitation is MS scales to a musical scale and octaves rather than frequency. I'm curious what be a better approach to resolution?
